Before School Dream
One day before school, I found myself feeling a bit sleepy. All at once, a gust of wind blew open our yellow door, and out flew my science homework. I jumped up and ran outside. That’s when I noticed a glowing door in the woods that wasn’t there before. I cautiously stuck my head in, and saw a giant. So I screamed and crawled, until I found my way to a large silly room. Wow! Inside were all kinds of balloons gathered around a glitter-covered stage. I couldn’t believe my eyes! Suddenly, to my shock, I heard my name called loudly on the microphone. I stumbled my way awkwardly to the front, where a crowd of onlookers were waiting expectantly. I tried to stay calm but inside I felt like crying! I took my place and was shocked to discover that whatever I sang into the magical microphone resonated magically. No matter what I sang, the crowd went wildly wild. So I sang the hours away until I was incredibly exhausted. Suddenly, I woke up in my kitchen to see my mom rummaging for her keys, ready to run to school. I was amazed to see my homework sitting right in front of me, under a sandwich. I snatched my homework and ran to the door. That’s when I discovered a bit of sparkly glitter dusting the edge. Holy Moly! Maybe it wasn’t a dream after all! What a great day!
